Ian James Brackley (born 13 December 1947) was the Anglican Bishop of Dorking〔(Communion Details )〕 since 1996.〔Who's Who 2008: London, A & C Black, 2008 ISBN 978-0-7136-8555-8〕 He was educated at Westcliff High School for Boys〔Debrett's People of Today London, Debrett's, 2008 ISBN 978-1-870520-95-9〕 and Keble College, Oxford,〔Crockfords (London, Church House, 1995) ISBN 0-7151-8088-6〕 before embarking on a clerical career. Ordained in 1972 he began his ministry with a curacy at ''St Mary Magdalene, Lockleaze''.〔(A church near you )〕 From 1977 until 1980 he was Chaplain at Bryanston School then Vicar of East Preston, St Wilfrid's Church, Haywards Heath (1988-1996) and finally Rural Dean of Cuckfield before his elevation to the Episcopate.
